What Should We Do Now?
This was the sermon delivered on our last evening at Stowe, Penn on music!
After this past week of meetings, I hope you have a better understanding of music for these times and not just from a musical standpoint – but in a manner that would open our eyes to how the devil has used music over all these years.  People need a Scriptural awareness of music, not just whether music is 'bad' or not, etc.
No Longer Barbarian

With him being the prince and power of the air – the anointed cherub & the god of this world, etc. we can no longer allow ourselves to become like barbarians to those out there who ARE only willing to…

…follow after THEIR flesh!
…follow THEIR own mind!
…follow THE spirit of antichrist!
All Kinds of Music

I hope you never forget what we learned from Daniel 3, learning that King Nebuchadnezzar got all the people, all the nations and all the languages to fall down and worship the golden image that he had set up by playing ALL KINDS OF MUSIC!

Be it the worlds music or even the music of modern Christianity,
all kinds of today's music can…
…appeal to the flesh because of the heavy influence of rhythm;
…appeal to the mind through the Mozart Mentality;
…appeal to man's own spirit as well as to the spirit of anti-christ.

Setting the Stage

Maybe now we can better see how music is setting the stage for the coming of the Anti-christ, not the real Jesus Christ!

Please remember from these meetings, that f you are truly a bible believing Christian who is willing to stand even stronger for the true words of the true Saviour and all that encompasses regarding your walk, you will see that you are being pushed out of the picture more and more these days – &  that we truly are becoming barbarians to the world and the world is becoming a barbarian to us!  I Corinthians 14:11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

Today's “Christian” Music

Music of the Tares

With the tares being the children of the wicked one and the sower being the devil according to Matthew 13:37-43, we see that the mixing of the wheat and tares creates quite a frustrating situation as described in Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

That is the question we ask in regards to the music of the world within the churches, amen? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

We plant the precious seed and do the watering, even regarding music, but we have to leave this particular harvest to God.

Music of the Delusion
II Thessalonians 2:10-12  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Note that the verses following (15-17) are what God would have us do in these wicked days as we get closer and closer to the ‘official’ wicked days of the Tribulation…

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Stand fast!
Hold fast with what they have been preached!
Comfort our hearts!
(through the scriptures and the brethren!)
Stablish ourselves in every every good work AND WORK!

So, for us – YOU and ME – and any others interested…
Here is what we Must Do!

1)  Study and learn to do music according to Philippians 4:8!
This kind of music does exist and it IS available – but you have to study it - learn it - dig into it - always keep it under control!

If you cannot control the music in your life, or in your family's life, then don’t do music at all!  The devil is a roaring lion seeking those who don’t understand the language of music – so, in regard to his righteous ministers of music, FROM SUCH TURN AWAY – WITHDRAW!  They WILL cause you and/or your children to err from the faith – they will be to them as a barbarian! Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself... (and his family!)

2)  Teach your children about Music in the Scriptures!
Let the Spirit of God work on your children!  Even us KJV parent's don’t have the best track record these days!  (Men, see Thessalonians for some of the best fathering example to to follow)

3)  Encourage and hopefully support your preacher to set the proper Scriptural of music in your church!
If your pastor DOES have a good understanding of the Scriptural aspect of music, then support him; and if he doesn't, then have him call me!  :-)  Ask him to have sing the old hymns of the 1800's and drop the "specials" and then just sing away in church!

It is the pastor's accountability to...

a. …perfect that which is lacking in your faith! (I Thessalonians 3:10) – allow him to do so!  (And don’t worry about HOW he does it – That is God's problem and the preachers problem.  In fact, see my sermon on How To Be at Peace With Your Pastor.  HOW he does his work is NOT your problem!  I Peter 5:1-4 is directed TO preachers, NOT the congregation.
b. to allow the word of the Lord to have free course and be glorified in his preaching – and the word of the Lord must ALSO have free course and be glorified in your lives as he preaches it!  II Thessalonians 3:1  Then, and only then, will it work effectually in you that believe!
4)  Do right with your music - Philippians 1:9,10 - And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Whether you do music that fits Philippians 4:8 or if you don’t do music at all!  (Remember, you cannot serve two masters – you cannot be lukewarm!)  tell them why!  Be ready to tell them!  And do it with joy – show that you live the “risen life” now that you have had the “crucified life!”
5) And last but not least...  GIVE GOD HIS PERFECT SONG!
Yes, there IS a perfect song!  Note that I said, “song” – not the word “music!”

We should now know that melody pleases the Lord!
We should now know that harmony pleases man!
We also should now know the rhythm pleases the devil!

Now, do you know what to do with your music?
Do it before the devil does it for you and for your children get caught up being led through music!
