What can we learn from this
series as we look at reasons why folks would not seek help from God - through
a King James Bible - following Paul's Epistles, etc.?
-
1. Ever wonder why they don't? Perplexed?
-
Knowing the possibilities from the Scriptures can
help take the distress away. This study should help us understand
these days.
-
2. Just like Paul's prayers, we can learn what
to try to deal with as we prepare to deal with families, and our own, churches,
etc.
-
3. This helps us be aware of the dangers that
we can all encounter that could damage or kill our spiritual life - even
our desires, etc.
-
4. Once again, we see just how the KJB has
it all!
PS - there are many potential full bore sermons in
this list. It is hard for me not to stop and preach on many of these.
Do people
ever say 'Lord, help me!'
-
Help me!
-
Matthew 15:25
- Then came she and worshipped him, saying,
Lord, help me.
-
Come and help us!
-
Acts 16:9 -
And
a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia,
and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
-
Apollos helped Gentile and Jew when
he learned the way of God more perfectly!
-
Acts 18:27,28
- And when he was disposed to pass into
Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who,
when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: For
he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures
that Jesus was Christ.
Some folks
were glad to receive help from the Risen Saviour through Paul!
-
They were glad!
-
They glorified the word of the Lord!
-
Their hearts were filled with gladness!
-
Brethren received them gladly!
-
They were brought 'good tidings of good
things!'
-
They received someone with gladness
someone who has grown - they held them in 'reputation.'
-
Philippians
2:29; Romans 10:15; Acts 21:17; Acts 14:17; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians
5-8!
help
-
1. To give assistance to, To be of service
-
2. To contribute to the furtherance
of; promote
-
3. To give relief to
-
4. To ease; relieve
-
5. To change for the better; improve
-
6. To wait on
-
guide, comfort, show the way, $$, reprove,
pray, rebuke, made aware, listen to, correct, instruct.
What if don't
want that help?
-
What if they:
-
refuse, don't know there is a need,
have pride (you can tell by the contention - see Proverbs
13:10 - Only by pride cometh contention:
but with the well advised is wisdom), ungrateful,
ignorant, angry, not saved, critical of 'how' you tried, uninterested,
bothered, interested but no time, say they are interested but are lying,
'think' you are wrong - but won't show you what it is that is wrong or
won't show you what they see to be right, say they believe it but still
just say they don't want to act on it, have their hands tied - in the snare
of the devil and are so deep it doesn't even look possible to get out,
they want their ears tickled to fix what they are only interested in, blinded
by the devil - by religion - by education - by science - by money, etc.
People need help in:
-
Judgment Seat of Christ
-
I Corinthians 3:9+
-
Romans 2:16
-
Walking to please God
-
Romans 8:8
-
I Thessalonians 4:1
How Do We Help?
-
1) Must we try to provoke them to good
works so that they can receive God's help?
-
Hebrews 10:24,25
-
No - tribulation book - good works first won't fix
things! Hear - believe - trust - then the works will change!
-
2) Serious prayer seeking God's mercy and grace to help!
-
Hebrews 4:16
-
Again, tribulation book - prayer is not a power to change God's mind, etc.
-
Paul on prayer - sure, for peace of God, but we have the Book for His answers
to our prayers!
-
3) Let em go to the world - to Satan!
-
I Corinthians 5:5
-
I Timothy 1:20
-
You might have to let this one take place!
-
4) Encourage them to stay in the fight for faith
- according to the Risen Saviour and Paul, KJB, etc.
Paul - our helper of our joy - our faith - not
dominion of people; dominion of law; dominion of death, etc.!
-
II Corinthians 1:24 - Not
for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy:
for by faith ye stand.
-
Not by works - lets... Ephesians 2:8,9
-
Works suddenly do not earn our perfection - Galatians
3:1-14
-
Sin not have dominion over us now - Romans 6:14
-
Death not have dominion over us now - Romans 6:9
-
Law not have dominion over us now - Romans 10:4
-
Paul / Pastor, etc. does not have dominion over your faith, either!
-
(Not Hebrews 13:17, etc.)
-
But the rightly divided word of truth should have dominion over us - and
all that comes with the Risen Saviour - GRACE, Knowledge of the Risen Saviour,
the riches of understanding, not under the law, liberty in Christ, etc.
etc.
-
I Thessalonians 5:14 - Now
we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded,
support the weak, be patient toward all men.
-
warn the unruly! - not comfort the unruly!
-
comfort the feebleminded - warn the feebleminded
/ weak
-
support the weak - warn the weak - scare them!
People all over the country
are in hard situations and lives today!

Thinking like a lost person!

understanding darkened

ignorance in them
-

lasciviousness
-

-
We want to tell them about the Risen Saviour through
an inspired, preserved and perfect Book.

They want to tell us what is wrong with 'one' Bible
concept - and not speak of the truth of all that God has done. Romans

Titus 1:10 - For
there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of
the circumcision:

I Thessalonians 2:2 -
But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated,
as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the
gospel of God with much contention.

Speaking with authority stirs things...
-
Titus 2:15
- These things speak, and exhort, and
rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
-
sermon coming soon...
-
not to strive...
-
II Timothy 2:24-26 - And
the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt
to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the
truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will.
-
His preaching 'hurt them'
-
but it was the right thing to do and worked!
-
See II Corinthians
7:8-10 -
For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did
repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though
it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but
that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner,
that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh
repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world
worketh death.
Ephesians 3:13
-
Don't like the battles you see the pastor going through
- wears you out.

who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as
I teach every where in every church.

He will be hurt!
-
He will hurt others!
-
He will meet 'hardness' head on!
-
It will affect his health!
-
He will experience harassment!
-
He will see hypocrisy to the max!
-
although Paul never talks about hypocrisy...
-
He will have to deal with himself!
-
He will have to deal with his family!
-
He will have to deal with honorable and devout holy
women!
-
He will have to deal with helpless men
-
Hopefully, you will be strengthened, not weakened
through it all as you watch your pastor preach the Risen Saviour through
Paul!
Ephesians 3:16-19
-
Don't know where to find his strength.
-
II Timothy 2:1 -
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
-
They seek their strength in their supposed sinlessness!
-
They seek their strength through their confession!
-
They seek their strength in their church & fellowship!

They seek their strength in their pastor.
-
They seek their strength in their music - listening

air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among
whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by
nature the children of wrath, even as others.
-
Galatians 5:19-21 -
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you
in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom
